Can anyone advize me? here is Scotland we are buried under London's red tape. They pretend they are opening doors to Ukrainies with no family ties here, and claim to offer finacnial support to those who can offer rooms, and houses. HOWEVER, on the other hand are contradicting this and adding a block by saying we must have names of individuals BEFORE they depart from Ukraine, or neighbouring states. And guess what? Absolutely NO LISTS to be found anywhere of people wishing to come to Scotland, or anywhere in fact.
So Westminster Parliament are, as ever, lying, while trying to look good while people suffer.
Any one in ''UK'' who has found a solution? Anyone outwith ''UK'' who knows an organization which will assist to break this red tape and get us names of people needing our help?
Lviv was my husband's home in Poland before WWII & then was in Ukraine.Most of his family were killed by the Nazi's in WWII.
It's very difficult for me to believe that this war & invasion by Russia is happening in 2022 & very frightening. I do hope that the people of Ukraine find a home & the war soon comes to an end. I'm sorry that the Russian people do not know what is really happening in Ukraine & believe the false Russian news. I'm grateful for Israel and Chabad for their help with the Ukranian Jewish people.
It is indeed very sad, and very shocking that we are now being thrown back into the 19th and 20th centuries nonsense and evil. However I must rtemark that we here in 'The West'' aren't getting the truth either. Which, when we understand G-d's word, is exactly what we should expect of the age we now live in.
It is difficult to see your own culture, or umbrella culture's blind spots, and see through the very myths and propaganda we outselves have been immersed within. And it is this, which I hope and pray, many of us now begin to discern and figure out how to combat.
It is all too easy, too, to become overly insular, and forget non-jews suffer under this form of insanity we see in Ukraine. And too, we must remember, technically speaking, the russian troops, and their familes are victims here too. Do they have a choice? Sure, they could all drop arms and depart. but, then what? You see what I mean?
Only G-d knows how to handle this correcelt. Let us keep praying and fasting?

Today's Ukraine is where my grandparents were born in the late 19th century and where my mother was born shortly after WWI. They came to America as soon as they could (1907-1921). Not all my family got out then. After WWII, in 1947, my grandfather managed to get a phone call through to his older sister who at that time was living in Moscow. As far as she knew, she was the only survivor from my dad's family. There were no survivors from my mom's family. I thank G-d every day they got out when they did.

My grandparents and their families were killed in the camps during the Holocaust. My young mom escaped as a child, then an orphan in a big bombarded city..She never completely recover and I became the comforter, the keeper of those memories. This war reminds me of the horrendous situation she repeatedly described to me and I feel as if I am living it. I am shocked of the lack of compassion intervention on the part of the Country I live in now and the media recording of innocent bodies being killed or dead in the street. How can anyone watch in real time this carnage, this crime against humanity and use it to promote their own charity or boast about their aid or compete for news polls? Let alone keep talking of money sanctions or making documentaries on Putin instead of showing us the truth? Nobody cares about the Ukraine, nobody wants to speak about the thousand of people of all faiths praying. Nobody wants to highlight anti-semitism and ethnic cleansing.
The world is witnessing a next personification of evil in the oppressor.
He appears to be such a civil person but he is not. The world must stop him.
I cannot stay separate and uninvolved by the inhumanity and cruelty of the oppressor and what is happening in Ukraine...I am always sending out my feelings through meditation and reflection and thinking about the refugees...yes there has been controversy and alot of conflict when it comes to refugees in the United States and I pray that we...the United States will gladly allow refugees to enter this country from the Ukraine...thank you for reading this

This is not a shock to anyone that has been watching escalations for decades. Small things here and there has lead to this larger action. We give inches adding up to miles and then they take more miles. This reflects what is going to happen in other parts of the world where inches have been taken.
We should no longer let things slide because "we are not the world's police" we should.get back in touch with our ethics and morals of WW2 and protect human rights which lead to prosperity and health for more than majority of all humans.

Yes, absolutely, the rabbis and their wives have been assisting everyone, regardless of religion.
They do and I am amazed at their greatness of soul, it is impossible to find the right word for such nobility.! because don’t forget these are Ukrainians, the enthusiastic collaborators of the nazi’s in the massacre of the Jews, Ukrainians who for a bottle of Vodka would betray their erstwhile friends to the Nazi’s and hand them over to be butchered. One could write pages about the evil done the Jews at the hand of the Ukrainians
So then why would we WANT to help them? Wouldn't it be wrong, unless they are righteous gentiles? why is this nobility? I truly want to know whether this is the right thing to do.

Chabad helps everyone regardless of religion. You help anyone in need regardless of what their forebears did, anyway not all Ukranians acted against Jews back then, or now.

Those innocent faces of those children just makes me want to reach in the screen and pull them out, close to safety. It’s horrible for the adults, but no child should have to witness these events; it will take many years before their minds are clear of flaming fires, smashed buildings and so forth. Events such as this one in the Ukraine and the Holocaust were so very needless. We must pray day and night and even as we go about our own lives that G d will send a huge CLOUD to show them the way to safety then he can cover all of them in the robe of light.
Amen! Is there a special prayer in Judaism for protection for all Jewish and non Jewish people in Ukraine? My heart breaks watching these children and all the Ukrainian people suffer and try to evacuate Ukraine and to those who are battling and the volunteers to aid in fighting this horrific war? May G-d guide them and protect them against this artrocity. They say to remember History such as the Holocaust so this shall not repeat itself?

I had a great great uncle called Zev Volko Gass that lived in Kamenetz and was buried in Shargorod, Venitz Ukraine and the family lived in Verbovitz. I dont know who hos daughter married so I am unable to trace her as immigrated to Israel and I dont know if any family stayed behind?
Do you know where I can find more info on the city of Kamenetz so I can know more about my uncle where he lived?

My grandfather Sheea Herschorn was born in Kamenetz Podolsk; the town was called Krilovitz in Yiddish.
